Known as a miniature to the macro environment- small desk top rocks offered the scholar and literati of the past an object for meditation and contemplation.

Those naturally former were prized over those “ enhanced” and those that rang when struck – creating pleasing tone were prized over all.

Created from various stones – scholar stones are prized today, as windows into the past and an anchor into the present.
